Jessica Alba’s Honest Company recalls organic baby powder

Published:

If you were using actress Jessica Alba’s Honest Company Organic Baby Powder … throw it away. It has been recalled according to a recent statement on the company site.

This product is being recalled due to possible contamination with microorganisms, including some species associated with skin infections or eye infections. The Honest Company said it is voluntarily recalling the product out of “an abundance of caution.”

No other products of The Honest Company are being recalled, but Alba’s business is no stranger to product problems. In August 2015, the company came under fire when their sunscreen product didn’t provide much protection at all. Earlier this year the company was sued for false labeling on their organic baby formula. A recent Wall Street Journal investigation found The Honest Company’s laundry detergent contained an ingredient the company had vowed not to use.

The company’s “Honestly Free Guarantee” touts that their” products are made without health-compromising chemicals or compounds.” The company blog said they aim to avoid GMOs whenever possible.

While Alba didn’t make the Farm Babe’s Top 7 celebrities who get it wrong when it comes to agriculture, she did get a dishonorable mention.
