Mainstream media digs into ‘Bachelor’ Chris Soules’ court records

Published:

Since this morning’s news of “The Bachelor” Chris Soules’ arrest following a fatal pickup/tractor collision near Aurora, Iowa, mainstream media has dug further into the reality star’s record.

According to Iowa State court records obtained by PEOPLE, Soules, 35, had a sordid history of charges and fines for several violations including possession of alcohol while underage, speeding, and driving under the influence.

His biggest offense prior to this week’s arrest was in 2005, when he was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Soules was fined over $500 and served one year of probation.

While alcohol was found on the scene of this week’s wreck, Soules has only been officially charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident at this time.

An agvocate for agriculture, Soules often traveled, spoke, and raised money and awareness for agricultural-related charities. Soules also focused on telling the story of sustainable farming while also encouraging the next generation of future farmers.
