The inspiring performance of Reese Burdette

Two and a half years ago, Reese Burdette’s life changed forever — the 7-year-old was in a burning room, saved by a daring rescue from her grandmother. Still, Reese suffered lung damage and burns to more than a third of her body. There was internal bleeding and repeated cardiac arrest episodes. She was in The Johns Hopkins Hospital for more than a year recovering.

Reese’s story is one that many in the dairy community — far beyond her family’s Pennsylvania farm — know well.

So when this video came out of Reese at the Premier National Junior Show this week, it was touching. The Facebook post says that the crowd was moved to tears as Reese reached her goal of showing at this year’s event.
