FFA members & alumni: FFA has changed my life

Published:

When it comes down to it, the National FFA Organization has changed the lives of millions of individuals. Everything from cultivating that sense of community, instilling a hard work ethic, and introducing leadership skills. Sometimes it is hard to put into words the impact such an organization has on you. However, these individuals were able to perfectly sum up their experience and the roll that FFA played for them in their lives.

“FFA has changed my life by opening up so many doors to new opportunities and friendships. FFA has become my family. I never knew where I belonged until I joined this amazing organization. I have learned so much about leadership, advocacy, and agriculture in general. I am now the president of my chapter and it brings me so much joy to see the impact FFA makes of so many lives around me. I have made many friends from all over my state at various conferences. Everyone is always so welcoming and supportive. It is such a great community and organization to be a part of.” — Ella Smith ELCO FFA, Pennsylvania

“FFA has changed my life, in many ways, but the largest impact it had was it’s where I met my husband and we wouldn’t have our amazing kids (that are now in FFA) without it!” — Kelly Jo Trice FFA Alumni

“FFA has changed my life by showing me my potential within opportunities that I would never have explored otherwise. Through the individuals I have met, both mentors and friends, I have only begun to realize the scope of the things I am capable of. I, along with so many others, am afforded an environment that I can call home. Agriculture brings new challenges and chances to learn every day, and for that, I will always be grateful.” — Ellie Stratton Roosevelt FFA, Colorado

“FFA has changed my life. I’m a vet school student that was heavily involved in FFA in both high school and undergrad (my university had a collegiate chapter). FFA not only allowed me to explore and learn about various aspects of agriculture, but also focus on my growth and development on a personal and professional level. My experiences helped me grow more confident in who I am and my abilities, discover new passions and interests, and learn life lessons. Ultimately, it helped shape who I am today and I would not be where I am now without my time in this great organization. I am always reflecting on the memories made, lessons learned, and connections formed.” — Caity Gaddis Fredericktown FFA & University of Findlay CFFA, Ohio

“FFA has changed my life in so many ways. From being able to advocate for agriculture and meeting new people, it’s been life changing ever since. Through FFA I have been able to find my passion and will become an agricultural education teacher and FFA advisor so that I can keep FFA growing in my community! — Justice-Ann Morrison (Secretary) Clewiston FFA Chapter, Florida

“FFA has changed my life by giving me opportunities to meet inspiring people and grow in my skillset. I had never been someone who could start a conversation or carry it, but through FFA, I’ve learned how to talk to people and build relationships. My confidence increased greatly as I competed in LDEs and submitted proficiencies, helping me see myself as a capable individual. I am so thankful for my time in the blue jacket.” — Holly Jane South Winneshiek FFA, Iowa

The National FFA Organization is so much more than just providing future farmers for our nation. It provides our future chemists, veterinarians, government officials, entrepreneurs, bankers, international business leaders, teachers and premier professionals in many career fields. The organization is also responsible for finding that social connection for many individuals who are looking for a connection. Although it is an organization, many members call it their FFAmily.
