?"I'm a survivor, I'm not gonna give up…"? The girl is back…on a conditional basis ☝️Gilly isn't a house ? chicken like Meera (my other hawk survivor) had been. She paces, she squawks to be let out, she's overall miserable indoors ? With temps in the high 70's yesterday, Gilly got a new spring patterned hen apron ("blooms" in honor of Day 11 of the #aprilhomestead photo challenge–posting late, sorry ?) and joined the flock in "intensively supervised" free-range time outdoors. At bedtime, she returned indoors to get one final spray of Vetericyn and some treats. This is my attempt to keep her from being completely ostracized from the flock, just as my broodies and Meera were after they spent time away. We'll see if it actually works! ?? Playing along today for #hensdaywednesday with @cluckingwasted and #redwattlewednesday with Janice of @rogerscreekfarm! The sweet spot – Cole @doletubbs monitors the gate while Matt and Kyler @wildbullmustang help separate before branding at @circle_f_farms – There's a sweet spot in creativity, one you'll find that completely satisfies that nagging need to create! Maybe it's the location you choose, the lighting you use, or the lens – or, a combination of many of these variables! As I've said before, we have to be willing to being open to this process. This image lasted for less than a minute. The morning sun went behind the clouds and the light completely changed. I chose the location because there's a ton of action and drama right at that the gate when separating. I chose this location because of a couple factors, the lighting and the action. I chose this lens (16-35) because it forces me out of my comfort zone, it opens up the world around me and allows me to tap into my creative muse. That's my sweet spot! #ranch #ranchlife #ranching #western #americanwest #westernphotography #westernhorseman #workingranchmagazine #americancowboy #utah #utahphotographer #aqha #aqhaproud #cowboy #horse #cowboyhat #photography #photography101 #canon #canonusa #teamcanon #canonbringit #brandingday #branding #creativity #thesweetspot #lightrays #lighting #agriculture #agdaily Shot Details ISO400, f7.1, 1/640s @ 16mm
