There's been a lot of talk about how agriculture negatively impacts the environment. A LOT.
There hasn't however been talk on how agriculture positively impacts agriculture. Agriculture preserves ecosystems. Agriculture boosts soil fertility. Agriculture sequests carbon. Agriculture retains soil and prevents erosion. Agriculture provides foods for many from limited sources and spaces. Agriculture creates habitats. Maintaining land for agriculture use can prevent that land from being developed and urbanized. Farmers and specifically famers who are involved in animal agriculture have been the punching bag for animal activists, the media, celebrities and those who want to attack “factory farming.” Here’s the thing, agriculture is safer and more efficient now more than ever. We are an industry that is evolving every single day. For the better. If our ancestors had not respected and tended to the land, the current generation of farmers wouldn’t be here to farm it. Families have not been farming for generations (fourth, fifth and sixth), because we are making a dime. They do it because they love it. Pure love. We love our animals, we love our land and we do the absolute best to preserve it. Every single farmer, cattle to corn does want one thing. We want to leave our farms better than we found it. For our children, our grandchildren and Lord willing, great grandchildren. If this is your love, your calling, follow it, pursue it, at any costs. This is a way of life we can’t afford to lose; the world can’t afford to lose. The media wants to always “put a face” to agriculture or animal agriculture. Here’s the face of future generations of farming. His bright face, full of life for farming and the animals he tends to behind him. As his hoodie says "raise cattle and eat beef." #farming #cattlefarming #agriculture #ranching #cattletales #factsnotfear #beef #cattle #cows #cowsofinstagram #ranchkids #farmkids #goldenglobes #missouri #afbfshare #missourifarmbureau #americanfarmbureau #america #foodisfuel #beefiswhatsfordinner #mamaspleaseletyourbabiesgrowuptobecowboys #agdaily #agnews #cattleranch
