Even though I've been back in Brooklyn for a few days my thoughts are stuck in Iowa. Thinking on some of the wintery sunrises I witnessed while back, I realized no one there expects life to be easy. Everyone gets up and gets out knowing things won't go their way and that you have to work hard to progress beyond the current state of things. Farms like this one have been steadily growing or dying for centuries.
