Happy National Agriculture Day! ?‍??‍? Today we recognize and celebrate all the people involved in agriculture! I’m so grateful to live in a time where food security isn’t an issue. The United States enjoys one of the most abundant, nutritious, and safe food supplies in all of human history. And today we get to remember and celebrate that fact. I don’t necessarily think farmers do their jobs hoping to get praise and gratitude. But at least for today, we can appreciate the work that everyone does–from farmers to packagers and truck drivers–to produce and support our food-production system. Thank you! #farmers #farming #farm #farmlife #farmfamily #agriculture #ag #sustainable #sustainableag #food #environment #nature #gmos #truth #knowyourfarmer #localgrown #Nationalagricultureday #nationalagday #agdaily #agday #sustainability #sustainablefood #food #growfoodnotlawns #foodmatters #food

This girl is so ready to get back to life outside. So after getting Ava off on the school bus we stopped by to visit the girls, Charlotte begged them for kisses and handed out a few names- like Lola, Cookie and Anita. ? Then she asked to go into the pen with them to play, it reminded me of the time when she was 2.5 and chased a rouge heifer down the isles of the barn and tried to grab its leg. She continues to have no fear of their size. ?✨? . . . . #childhoodunplugged #raisingthoserascals #lovelifeoutside #bedeeplyrooted #motherhoodsimplified #seeksimplicity #wildandbravelittles #raisinglittleladies #farmlife #agdaily #farmgirl #hessdairyfarm #agvocate #blggersgetsocial #onthefarm #holdthemoments #thesincereststoryteller #livethelittlethings

Help me with a name!! • • Before I left for a work trip I wandered up to the calf barns to take some pictures and just play with them while it was so sunny out. Seriously the sun just makes everything better, even if it was still cold temperature wise. When is this winter going to end?! • • While I was up there I found out a heifer that we purchased a few weeks ago had freshened with a #RedHolstein calf! For those of you that don’t know a majority of our cows (like 96%) are black and white holstein. But I love that we have a sprinkling of redheads too! It may or may not be because I’m a redhead…that’s not the point here…. • • Component wise, meaning the protein and fat contents of the milk that she will produce is the same of a black and white holstein. But gosh darn she’s so much prettier. ? If I ever get a vote in what genetics we bring in next year I’m voting for any and all red holstein fathers, because the world needs a few more redheads! • • I’ve also decided she’s my calf, #redheadclub Any suggestions on names?!? ?

Good mentors are essential in agriculture. For #wednesdaywisdom of #nationalagweek let's talk about mentors and friends in agriculture. Agriculture is a tough industry and one that requires a lot of autonomy and personal responsibility. Each decision we make has to be decided not because it's what's best for our neighbor or friend but because it's what's best for our operation. That doesn't mean that mentors and friends aren't essential though. They are. They are essential for their support, their advice, and their guidance. They're essential because they are semi-unbiased. They're essential because they give a different perspective on an issue. They're essential because the best mentors become part of our family. It's also important to be a mentor and a leader when we can. It's important to be open to providing honest information, to helping the next generation, and to fostering the next leaders for agriculture. #nationalagweek #coach #mentorship #coaching #agriculture #farmlife #agchat #agdaily #agday #leadership #farm #familyfarm #inspirationalquote

I just thought about how our lives would be different if our daily farm life wasn’t dependent on weather. 1. Snow days would be the best still 2. Snow melting would be super fun and muddy pens for livestock wouldn’t be a concern Daily we surrender to the fact that this is out of our control. & God is very in control. Even when the elements might make things a little (a lot) tougher on the livestock and us, it’s an opportunity to be constantly reminded of God’s sovereignty. The work entrusted to us is to care for our livestock the best way we can. I wish I could say my attitude was always this centered. It’s SO easy to complain. Really focusing on being more mindful of this and I can’t do it alone. Chattering with God more consistently throughout my day is something I’m working on this week. We are weary, but we WILL survive this winter friends! SPRING is coming!!☀️????• • • #feedlot #feedlotlife #ranchphotography #nebraskabeef #nebraskabeefcouncil #agdaily #ag365 #yes2meat #knowyourrancher #familyranch #workingranchmagazine #cattletales #westernlifestyle #farm365 #ag #agvocate #farmher #countrysideandfarmlife #peopleofcattletales #westernlifestyle #farm365 #ag #agvocate #farmher #cattleranch
