Have you ever noticed how cattle create little moms groups? ? They hang out with other moms who have young calves and even babysit for each other. Like, how is it possible that my cows are better at making mom friends than I am??? ? Seriously, though, they do and we should too. There is solidarity in numbers sister! ?? Drop your kids age in the comments! I am curious if many of you have kids close to my kids’ ages or if it varies. And find some like minded farm and ranch mamas to follow while you’re at it, friends! ?????? (Mine are 5, 3, and 1 btw) ———— #teamworkmakesthedreamwork #farmlife #familyfarm #farmfamily #farming #farmher #farmkids #countrylife #countrykids #wildandfreechildren #lovelifeoutside #agriculture #agfamily #regenerativeag #soilhealth #holisticfarming #ranchfamily #rancher #ranching #cattleranch #sustainablebeef #blackangus #beefadvocate #wildwest #kansas #prairie #grasslands #homeontherange #thisisparadise

Honestly, if it were easy, everyone would do it. . . The older I get, the more I appreciate people who are coachable. People who want to learn, and grow. Who may have no clue, yet give it a shot anyway. . . I am trying to be that kind of a person. I don't know much. I'm not very handy, and I am mechanically challenged. But I try. I don't know everything and don't want to know everything. But, I want to learn and be able to help when needed. It's a great feeling to learn something new, and put it into practice. . . Don't be afraid to fail. It is perfectly fine to try something and suck at it, too. The main thing is, that you show up, you try, and you learn from the experience. We can't do everything, be everything, or have everything. Be grateful for what you have and what you can do. Listen to others. Be humble. Never stop learning. That's the secret to a full, awesome life ❤

Let's talk about mental health a little on this Monday morning.⠀ ⠀ Farming is an incredibly tough, isolating, and stressful career (like a lot of careers). In recent years we've seen an increase focus on rural mental health.⠀ ⠀ It's important to keep talking about it, especially as many across the Midwest are dealing with historic and devastating flooding. I cannot imagine the stress of dealing with the situations they have had to deal with. The loss of livestock, homes, grain bins, stored grain, equipment, infrastructure – and in general life as they knew it.⠀ ⠀ If you need help — please reach out! Or utilize resources available through groups such as @nebraskafarmbureau, @nationalfarmersunion, @farmaid, and many others! Nebraska Farm Bureau has resources focused on Nebraska specifically — while the others have resources available for anyone nationwide. @rootedinthevalley also has a long list of resources available as well. ⠀ ⠀ And as always the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline '1-800-273-TALK (8255)' is always available for anyone who is struggling and needs someone to talk to – especially if you want someone anonymous and disconnected from your situation.⠀ ⠀ I know how hard it is to ask for help, especially with depression and anxiety related issues (I struggled with postpartum depression), but there are resources and there is help — and you're never alone, even when it feels like you are!⠀ ⠀ #mentalhealth #ruralmentalhealth #depression #farmlife #agriculture #farmher #femalefarmerproject #selfcare #agday #agdaily #agrilife #rural #rurallove
