Tall Cotton Farms. We live in the original farm house built in 1882. The land has a mind of its own but it's ours since December 2013 and we've been working very hard to restore its nutrients and beauty. Everyone new we meet knows who we are: "oh you are the farm with the sheep!" ? We often hear people say: "we love what you're doing there with the sheep and the land. So beautiful." We also get the periodic: "what happened to your haybine? It looks like you missed a few spots." ? We are learning so much. Every day. Summer is hard work because we are constantly preparing for winter. Hay bales are heavy AND scratchy – not sure everyone is aware of that. Winter is hard because our thumbs are never as important as they are then to bring water and feed, shovel pathways for the sheep and ducks, shovel snow off of roofs. When you commit to raising animals you have a massive obligation to care for and treat them as you would want to be treated, no matter the weather, no matter your energy level, no matter your other plans.
