Corn Silage harvest continues ? • Today I had a companion on the floor of my tractor. ? My parent's dog, Zelda, loves tractor rides! We are celebrating the International Day of Rural Women today at the Committee on World Food Security #CFS46 at @fao! What a powerful day filled with some amazing speakers with thought provoking messages. As a mom of two young daughters, I couldn't help but think of the future generation of rural women. The rural girls of today in developing nations. Will they have the the rights and opportunities they deserve to create a future for themselves? To own land, gain an education and their basic needs of food and health care met. If rural women farmers were given the same rights as their rural men, we could have 150 million less hungry people in the world. Will this future generation of rural women, our daughters, granddaughters, sisters and friends, be the generation to reach #ZeroHunger? I hope so. But I want to make sure that nothing is holding them back for them to get there especially not their gender.
