Farmers in the Netherlands protested unfair treatment and regulations today. And farmers had this to say about… — "If the government wants to avoid the farmers' wrath, it must ensure that lucrative businesses such as motor-racing, airports and multinationals are subject to equal scrutiny." @bbcnews Farmers across the global are being vilified for their GHG emissions and blamed for climate change. When the fact is we as farmers continue to improve our sustainability while growing more food. Here in the US animal agriculture accounts for less than 4% of GHG emissions and yet we have "meatless Monday" claiming to be more sustainable. (All the while this movement is actually hurting childhood nutrition.) — Transportation, electricity and industry account for over 80% of GHG emissions. But we don't have walk to work on Tuesday? Or turn off your air conditioning Wednesday? Makes you wonder if some of these huge industries aren't pointing the finger at agriculture to avoid anyone pointing the finger at them…?
