Stopped by our neighbor's field to see their great corn.? The corn silage trucks are rolling into the dairy and the packing tractors are hard at work. Stay tuned this week to see how we store the harvested crop to keep it good to feed our cows for the whole year.

I’ll never forget my senior year high school English instructor who always made sure we knew the difference between the words “kids” and “children.” . A “kid” is defined as a young goat, while “child” is defined as a young human being below the age of puberty. . My point is, it wasn’t until the 1800’s that the word “kid” was extended to children. At what point did someone relate their child to a baby goat? What type of breakthrough was that for our language? Goats were of the first animals to be domesticated and provide many resources to us either by milk, meat or byproducts. . So please, don’t ever think of me as weird if you say “kid” rather than child and I ask you about a baby goat. I’m simply reflecting back on my high school days.
