Emma wasn’t the only one who got to explore the Fort Collins area last week. I spotted this farm on our way back to Fort Collins after having spent the day in the Roosevelt National Forest and playing around in the Poudre River. A definite to-do if you’re ever in this area. ~ There was just something about this particular farm that really reached out to me. Maybe it was because of it’s expansive beauty nestled right against the northern Front Range, or the old barn sitting at the end of a dusty dirt road, or how that dirt road divided two fields of lush green and defined a job well done. Never have I owned an Ayrshire before, since I grew up with a herd of Jerseys. But there's a 1st for everything and right here she is. Born Feb 1st 2018 this Winter Heifer calf has alot of potential in the years to come. Her Dam comes from the many great cows of the Clover Knoll Ayrshires out of Morrison, Il. That Dam would be: Clover-Knoll Avenger Flashy who is a 2 year old who needs to see the classifier (thankfully thats in 9 days). This heifer is Sired by the notorious Blackaddar BB Kellogg who claims 13 premier sire titles at World Dairy Expo, which makes him the most decorated sire of any Dairy breed. And with that said I would like to introduce you all to Clover-Knoll BBK Flame. My first thought when I took this picture was “UGH. This would be so much better if there weren’t so many clouds in it.” . But then I went back and looked at it again, only to see that the clouds are arguably the most important part of this picture. They add character, more colors, and are evidence of the MUCH needed rain we got today here in Mid-Missouri. . Do you ever do that? Think about a situation in life where your your initial reaction of “UGH” ends up being the most beautiful part? . Yeah, me too. But I’m thankful for reminders like I got tonight that sometimes, after another look, the clouds are the best part of it all! ?❤️ #TheFarmStory
