Why do I LOVE cows and agriculture? This man right here. He answers to Dad, Super, Papa, and Robert. He taught and showed me how to love the Big Brown Cow, aka Brown Swiss, growing up on our dairy farm. Then we sold the milking herd in 1989 and he kept buying us heifers to raise and show in 4H. My brother wanted to show an Angus heifer in junior high. Dad found a neighbor that would teach us about his cow/calf herd and have us help with chores. We eventually raised and showed Angus heifers, steers and cow/calf pairs. Now my Dad and brother raise Jersey steers from bottle calves to market weight. They still have cattle around, minus milking 2x a day. This photo was taken at a fair this week. A family had more cows in a class than people to lead them. Dad stepped in to help without being asked because it's what he does, and has showed us how to do too. Why does he answer to Super you ask? When my siblings and I were young, he told us he was Superman and we should call him that. Super stuck. #iabeef #iacattle #RowesRedCows #redangus #rotationalgrazing #iowafarm #CattleTales #agdaily #dairy #brownswiss #family #dairyfarm

How many people can say they’ve held a baby pig?🐷 Let alone one that was born right on their very own farm! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Farm life just isn’t the norm anymore, but I’m honestly glad that it’s my norm.. because look at that cute face! 😍 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Towards the beginning of summer, we had two sows (mama pigs) give birth, and since then these little crazy babies have been running all over the farm. Literally❗️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When the pigs are young, we don’t pen them. We just let the roam freely, and they LOVE it. They’re too big of chickens to leave the farm or wander too far from mom, so missing piglets isn’t an issue. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Some days you’ll walk out the front door of the house to find a group of piglets at your feet and the next day you’ll find them all trying to steal apples from low hanging branches (which is hilarious to watch 😂). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ They’re always up to mischievous things, but it’s so fun to watch them grow and become more adventurous each day. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you’re looking for a little more farm animal cuteness, all the best videos are in my highlights!! 🐶🐈🐮🐷🐝🐓🐐 . . . . . #farmersdaughter #farmlife #farmanimals #babyfarmanimals #pigs #piglet #babypig #piggy #agdaily #agriculture #dairyfarm #familyfarm #farmher #womenwhofarm #womeninagriculture
