The leathers are soft and the rawhide has aged, the tooling has worn down over the years. It has carried more than a man across the fields and hills; it has carried worries and dreams and the weight of the world on a young horse's back. He sees it now as less of a tool, and more of a tangible extension of his heritage. It is more than just a saddle; it is a piece of the legacy he wants his granddaughter to continue. He may not set his foot it the stirrups or settle himself in the seat anymore, but his saddle still rides on. "Grandpa's Saddle", by Richelle Barrett {written for a sweet gal by request– Her grandpa saw a love of horses in her, and passed on his saddle so that she can learn to ride and cowboy like he once did. ? I am so honored to share my gift with others!}

I love to write, in spite of the high school English teacher who told me I would never be better than a "C average" writer. I love to sing, even if only the puppy howls along. I consider myself a photographer, even if no one buys my photos. I am a dang good cook, in spite of the fact no one really taught me how to cook more than tacos and no-bake cookies. Do the thing. Sing the song, dance the dance, write the words, cook the food, play the sport, take the photo- even if no one else appreciates it. Teach yourself. Screw up and try again. Who cares if someone told you in second grade that you couldn't do such-and- such for one reason or another? Who cares if you barely passed chemistry in high school or got passed up for the cheerleading squad? You certainly could let those things define you for the rest of your life… But I say, screw that. You can do anything if you really want to work for it, and don't give a rat's hind end what other people think or have told you along the way. Life is too damn short to dwell on other people's shitty opinions. Live it while ya got it. ❤ Richelle
