As I drove around today, I saw countless tractors, balers, and hay crews out in the fields. We’ve finally gotten some drier weather here in Missouri and across the Midwest, so I imagine there were lots of people who spent their days in the hay field or sitting on a tractor. ? I couldn’t help but wonder what each of their stories were and what they would say if they were asked to tell it. I came to the conclusion that many probably don’t see the value in the hard work they put in during the hot summer days. ? So, in case that’s you, I’m here to remind you of this: these long, hot days? THEY MATTER. The bales of hay you’re putting up so your livestock have something to eat in the winter? THEY MATTER. The lessons you’re teaching your kids who chose to ride in the tractor with you instead of playing video games? THEY MATTER. ? And last but not least, to the farmer who has been through A LOT in 2019: you matter. I probably don’t know you. I don’t know what kind of farming operation you have, what kind of crops you planted, how many animals you have, where you live, or what hardships you’ve faced this year. But I do know that YOU MATTER, so please don’t forget that. ? Happy Saturday, friends! Enjoy your weekend and remember YOUR STORY MATTERS! #TheFarmStory
