These are the Bloechl Homestead's neighbors. Our Holsteins can wave to these beautiful Herefords every day from across the street! I love that our neighbors are cool with me wandering around with their cattle. ☀️ This shoot was a lot of fun, mostly because it was spontaneous. A few weeks before, these same cows refused to care about me and my camera at all. They would not help me get the calving season shots I had wanted. That's the thing with animals, they are unpredictable. ? On this night, Eli and I were driving to the farm on a Friday night, and the sun was just perfect, and the herd here was out and about. What you don't see is Eli getting all their attention. He literally started making some whistling noises and they all came running right to him. It was seriously impressive. ⚡ So, instead of getting upset about things not going your way, just wait… because when has it NOT worked out? God has a plan, but it may be just as unpredictable as these sweet cows.

Round one of our alfalfa season wrapped up. I haven't stepped foot inside a tractor or swather. And I haven't moved a single bale. I've taken food to the field and helped get vehicles moved around but that's it. Huge change from last summer when I ran probably 85% of our operation….from laying it all down, raking/baling it up, bringing it to the edge of the field, to stacking it in the barn. I'm not sad lol I'm so happy to be home with my babies.
