This is the "Blue Crew." ?? A family that works through making hay together is the kind of family I want to be part of. ☀️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We had our annual "hay day" on the Bloechl Homestead Farm yesterday where we put up all the hay in the barn we'll feed all winter. We all had our jobs and got it done in record time. ?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This process always brings out all the stories from our parents about how they would put up 11,000 bales in a week back before we switched to round bales. The work is still hard, we leave with scratched arms, tired legs and hay in our hair, but the stories from before are always fun to hear. ?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I love being a farm kid, even if the work is hard. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ P.S. Yes, I'm blinking ??

A while back I posted about “Behind the Scenes” of the Circle L Ranch and ask you folks to ask questions about what you wanted to know. Which by the way, I loved all your questions and please keep them coming, anyway here is the history of the Ranch.
We moved into the Circle L Ranch house about 7 years ago when Cody's parents retired. In 2002, Cody and I purchased a piece of land that his parents had rented for many years, this place that I’m sure you have hear me talk about is called Murphys. Murphy’s supplies us with almost all our hay for all animals during the winter months. It is almost all meadow ground.
After talking to our older generation neighbors, we have come to the conclusion that this ranch house was built before 1910. Our house was a 1 room homestead. The previous owners then added a larger kitchen, a couple of bedrooms and an upstairs. In 1965, Cody's parents, Fred and Darlene, bought the Circle L Ranch and in 1979 Cody's parents added on a living room, bedroom, bathroom and a laundry room. Cody's parents raised 5 kids in this ranch house.
This ranch is our home, and now a part of the story of who we are and a large collection of all the things we love. I would love to answer any more questions about the history of our ranch. • • #behindthescenes #circlelranch #history #homestead #nebraska #sandhills #ranchlife #ourstory #cattletales #knowyourbeef

Weird how many emotions I get from this picture. He's growing up and I'm so incredibly proud. Yesterday he spent almost 12 hours working with his dad as they dug out the water line to put in a couple hydrants for the animals. His dad even got him his own little leather gloves. He loved every minute of it. While the rest of us went to a birthday party…he stayed faithfully with his dad…until I finally pulled him inside to make him eat supper and shower. (Yes I did make him strip to his undies on the porch…just because we live on the farm doesn't mean I don't have limits ??‍♀️???) This is how my parents taught my siblings and I our work ethic by workin beside us, I'm so proud of my boy as he begins to learn what real work looks like. And right now he thinks he's just playing. #agdaily #ag365 #ranchlife #farmlife #farmkids #okag #oklagriculture #agmorethanever
