???? ???? ????????: The horses we get are from local sales or other sales out of state. The horses we get need to be specific. They have to weigh a certain weight, they of course have to be healthy, also have to be halter broke. Depending on the serum companies needs they tell us if they want quarter horses, drafts or steers. Usually it’s quarter horses. Now you may be wonder what a serum company is…well it is a company that makes serum antibodies, bacterins, toxiods, bacterin-toxoids, antitoxins, spore, and modified live vaccines. Many people in the livestock industry will get vaccines that are from the Colorado Serum Company and that’s who we supply our livestock to! NO ANIMALS ARE HARMED in the process of making vaccines. Literally all they do is draw blood then boom done back to us they come… • I think another day would be great to get in the specifics of what happens at the serum company. This little girl is something fierce. Talk with her for all of 5 minutes and she will tell you, she's a dairy farmer. Good luck to anyone who tries to tell her otherwise. — On any given day on our dairy, we have 3 generations working together. And her generation is the future of our farm. — She is the reason I share with people about our dairy and about large scale agriculture. If she truly wants to join this business, I want her to inherit a better dairy industry then the one we are currently in. — The dairy industry is a tough business to be in. I have seen this dairy business take some strong men and women, chew them up and spit them out. My heart breaks for the families it has broken. — I know I personally have seen many close friends and family leave this business in the last year or two for various reasons. It's never easy to see people leave or forced out. — This business is so much more than a job. I know we say it all the time, but it's a way of life. Its our job, our future, our home, our children's childhood. It's everything to us. — We care so deeply about our farm, our cows, our land. That when things end, we aren't sure who we are or what we are supposed to do. And right now, none of us know what the future holds. And that's scary and stressful. — Today, is #mentalhealthmonday with @beavervineyards. It's easy to share the good days on the farm, but not so easy to talk about the struggles. Reality check: do you have things in your life that make you THIS excited? I’m talking running full speed through the grass, ears flopping in the wind, knocking your mom over (yes, that happened ?) kind of excited!! ? Delilah is *literally* running into Monday exactly like this. This is how she runs at EVERYTHING she does. Can you say the same? ? If not, I challenge you to adjust something.
