I’ve always been drawn to the work of farmers and others that produce with their hands. I had the opportunity to grab some quick portraits of Brock Hansen, Brandon Schmidt, Randy Schmidt (not pictured), Jake Pyle and Curt Hansen yesterday. I always appreciate the willingness of people to open their lives to my lens. . . . . . .#farm365#agchat#farmtog#farm#thisisIowa#exploreIowa#ia_ag#food#agchat#iowafarmer#iowafarming#IG_IOWA#myfarmphoto#agdaily#jmurphpix#farmlife#farmphotography#ag#highlightiowa#iowagram#farmlife#IAag#IowaAg#iowafarmer#onlyinIowa#renegade_community#farmtog #thisisIowa#exploreIowa#ia365#IG_IOWA#all_Iowa#IaFacesPlaces#highlightiowa#midwestlivingmagazine#ig_countryside#iowaoutdoors#traveliowa#iowa_views#MyIowa#midwestmoment#jmurphpix#MyIowa#yIAFacesPlaces#the_best_shotz#aroundiowa#igersmidwest#iowagram#catchdsm#renegade_rural#captureiowa#highlightIowa

My birthday party people ?? I think Daniel and I each got a mini me ? except A's baby blues? She got those from her Momma ? This is our little family. We are one of tens of thousands of dairy farm families. DYK 97% of dairies in the USA are family owned even larger farms like ours? You may have seen some "I support dairy farmers" Facebook profile pictures recently or some news articles and wondered what was going on. Well dairy farmers are facing one of the most difficult years ahead. Many dairy farmers have received letters in the mail telling them that the milk plants will no longer pick up their milk. Included in these letters was suicide prevention hotlines. Suicide rates of farmers are more than double of veterans. This whole situation is heartbreaking. There are many reasons for our recent low milk prices. We have an over supply. It's not necessarily because of a low demand. It's a more complicated issue. We have an outdated milk pricing system. We are also a part of a global market. So something happening half a world away can affect our milk prices here in Eastern New Mexico. So I urge you, the consumer, to support your farmers. Tonight order cheese on your burger or treat yourself to some ice cream or pour yourself an extra glass of milk tomorrow for breakfast. That milk supports families just like ours?? Thank you to all of you who buy our products!
