Red barn, blue sky, and white vapor trail! I know it’s March and I should focus on green, but when I pulled into my driveway, this just seemed to be a picture moment! This barn was on the property in an empty field. My husband and I had three little ones to raise and decided we needed to leave the Bay Area for a more small-town life. So, we took a big breathe and jumped into the home building process. This barn was the inspiration for our farmhouse with the wraparound porch! (There are pics on here if you missed it!) We’ve never looked back!☀️ • • #cattleranch #redbarn #ranchlife #farmlife #rsa_rural #countrysideandfarmlife #countryliving #barn #farmiswheretheheartis #country_features #mystyleoffarmhouse #naturelovetuesday #barnsofinstagram #asimplecountrylife #rusticfarmcharm #woodnessgracious #trb_rural #barnheartsforsure #agdaily #countrylivingmag #myinspiredblend #country_stilllife #creatingmyhome #weatheredandwonderful #countrylifestyle1 #americanfarmhousestyle #stylingwithastory

Tuesday’s Tutorial – Composition (save it!) . Jay stands off the gate, giving a healthy margin for the cows to move, as they get sorted off. . Arranging or organizing elements within your frame providing a visual balance for your viewer. Wheww, that’s a mouth full! Simply put, composition gives our brains and our eyes a balance within the image. . I believe the number one element in this is…critical thinking. It’s asking yourself, before you press the shutter button… 1) Is there anything distracting from my subject 2) Am I drawing attention to or away from it . One of the most popular or well known compositions is Rule of Thirds. Also see, Golden Ratio. . Now, after all of this…once you’ve studied and applied them, they become paradoxical…enjoy! . ?ISO100, f4, 1/1000s @ 200mm ?Canon 5D4 Lens – 70-200mm II f2.8L IS #ranch #ranchlife #ranching #western #americanwest #westernphotography #westernhorseman #workingranchmagazine #photographerlife #utah #utahphotographer #color #lines #cowboy #photographer #cowboyhat #photography #photography101 #canon #canonusa #teamcanon #canonbringit #n40life #paradox #ruleofthirds #tutorial #phototips #tips #outside

Spinach apparently survived the winter, so we had some in our breakfast omelette!
