For the past eight years, Syngenta has been honoring those who are #RootedinAg. This contest highlights rural Americans who have had an impact on those in their community. Applications for the eighth annual Thrive #RootedinAg Contest are now open online.
Syngenta asks, “Who inspired you to be #RootedinAg?”
In exchange for sharing your story, you can honor that person and win prizes for you and your community. Along with being featured in Syngenta’s magazine Thrive, three finalists each receive a mini touch-screen tablet and wireless earphones. And if you’re the grand prize winner, Syngenta will send you a $500 gift card, plus set up a professional photo shoot with you and your ag mentor. They will also give you a chance to pay it forward within your community by donating $1,000 to a local charity or civic organization of your choice.
To enter this year’s contest, interested candidates can visit the contest website and fill out the brief online entry form, which asks them to describe their ag mentor. The candidate will be asked to write a paragraph or two (about 200 words) and submit a photograph that visually supports their written entry,
“In the ag community we regularly push each other to do a better job of telling ‘our story’,” said Pam Caraway, communications lead at Syngenta. “The #RootedinAg Contest gives people in our industry the opportunity to tell their story — and see it amplified in our communities and across our country. You have a good story to tell. Share it.”
