Dairy mom asks Lush employee not be fired, instead educate

If you saw this popular story trending on social media last week regarding cosmetics retailer Lush reportedly asking a 17-year-old dairy farmer to leave a Grand Rapids, Michigan, store, here’s an update from his mom.

Since Leslie Van Houten Parrish shared their family’s story on Facebook on May 19, she said the support for her son and the farming community has been overwhelming. She has also been pleased with her direct communication with the Lush store manager — asking that the employee who dismissed her son not be fired — instead advocating for the company to create an employee education program and even encouraging Lush employees to get their hands dirty.
