At home with the kids? These farm crafts will help you make the most of family time

Published:

Not surprisingly, lots of kids are out of school right now, and life as we know it has been given a little extra injection of chaos thanks to the COVID-19 scare. So we are being forced to make sure our kiddos complete any assignments they were given or were provided online (if they’re school age), and, if you’re like me, you’re searching for ways to pass the time without letting them be on their tablets all day long.

The All Kids Network has a variety of fun farm-related crafts that you can do with preschoolers, kindergartners, and other little ones. There are barns, farmers, farm animals — and lots of these can be done with items you likely already have a home.

There are nearly 20 farm-related crafts available on this page, but we’ve chosen our five favorite to help get you started.

Cotton Ball Sheep Craft

The cotton ball sheep craft is a fun farm craft for your preschooler. Combining cotton balls with a decent amount of glue makes for a very child pleasing craft, and this fuzzy sheep craft is a definite favorite.

Farmer Craft

This simple farm craft engages your child’s imagination as he/she gets to show how they look as a farmer.

Peek-a-boo Barn Craft

We couldn’t do a set of farm crafts without doing a barn craft. An older child would be able to handle all of the cutting, while a younger child would be better starting with pre-cut pieces. Once you have the barn cut out and glued onto paper, even young children will enjoy gluing the animals all around the barn.

Foam Egg Chick

Here, you get to assemble all of the pieces into a cute finished chick. All Kids Network said they made a few of these little ones to give out as homemade Easter gifts for grandparents and family and kept one for ourselves as a cute homemade Easter decoration.

Kids Tractor Craft

“T” is for tractor, so All Kids Network made a craft that turns the letter T into a tractor! Their printable template makes this simple paper craft even easier.
