$10K reward offered for information in Colorado cattle killings

Published:

The desire to find the person responsible for shooting cattle to death near Hugo, Colorado, is so great that a $10,000 reward has been offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page spoke directly to anyone who may know the shooter: “It is time to evaluate your loyalty to this CRIMINAL. Would this person keep YOUR secret with a $10,000 reason not to?”

According to the Denver Post, five cattle and seven antelope have been killed, dating as far back as 2013. The most recent shooting happened July 30.

Livestock belonging to multiple owners have been targeted, and the shootings seem to coincide with the opening of pronghorn antelope season.

“These cattle are the source of income for many families!” the sheriff’s office said. “Anyone who could do these terrible acts needs to face justice. This must end.”

Those with information can call (719) 743-2426.
