Ag secretary kicks off 3rd Back to Our Roots tour next week

For the third time in his career as U.S. secretary of agriculture, Sonny Perdue is traveling through several states hoping to get feedback about the upcoming Farm Bill — you know, that little piece of legislation that helps shape production, conservation, financing, and a host of other aspects about the American agricultural sector in the coming years.

This Back to our Roots RV tour begins Tuesday, April 3, and Perdue wants to hear from farmers, agriculture students and researchers, business owners, community leaders, and USDA employees. Perdue will be joined on the four-day tour by Administrator Linda McMahon, the head of the Small Business Administration.

On his first tour, in August 2017, Perdue toured Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, and Indiana. You can see it here:

In September 2017, Perdue traveled on his second tour to Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. More on that in this video: 

This time, he’s going to be in Michigan, Ohio, and Kentucky. Here’s the full schedule:

TUESDAY, April 3 — MICHIGAN

Secretary Perdue Visits Michigan State University
