‘Bachelor’ Chris Soules arrested after deadly crash

Published:

Former “Bachelor” star Chris Soules has been arrested and accused of leaving the scene of a deadly crash that has killed a tractor driver in Iowa.

According to KRGG TV9,  the Buchanan County, Iowa Sheriff’s Office received a report of a wreck in the 1000 block of Slater Avenue, north of Aurora around 8:30 p.m. Monday.

Reports say the reality star was driving a pickup that rear-ended a tractor. The driver of the tractor reportedly died at the hospital following the crash after the vehicle was sent into a ditch.

According to The Des Moines Register,  the tractor driver has been identified as Kenneth E. Mosher, 66, of Aurora.

An Iowa State Patrol spokesman said Soules left the crash scene on foot headed northbound. The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office arrested him, took him to the hospital, and then to the jail.

Soules’ bail has been set at $10,000. A preliminary hearing is set for 1:30 p.m. on May 2 at the Buchanan County Court House.

After appearing on The Bachelor, Soules’ life changed dramatically. Instead of remaining in the Hollywood spotlight, he uses his celebrity to promote farming and agriculture, his lifelong passion. See our spotlight on Soules from CarbonTV’s American Elements:
