A 73-year-old Australian farmer is making headlines after he took matters into his own hands after a motorbike accident. The Gippsland farmer was leaning over the front of his bike checking for grasshoppers when he hit a ditch and went flying over the handlebars.
When he got back on his bike to get help, he found he couldn’t hold his head up so he literally held it up by his hair. It turns out the Aussie had not only cracked his head, he fractured his neck.
A head spinal surgeon at The Austin Hospital commended the farmer for his actions and said fracturing the top two vertebrae, C1 and C2, would indeed have felt like his head was going to fall off.
