You can’t turn on the news without hearing about the Nunes memo, the classified memo that accuses the Justice Department of surveillance abuses. Led by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) the memo released Friday accuses senior Justice Department officials of improperly using information to obtain surveillance warrants on Carter Page, a member of the Trump transition team and former Trump campaign adviser.
On Monday, President Donald J. Trump publicly praised Nunes on Twitter saying: “Representative Devin Nunes, a man of tremendous courage and grit, may someday be recognized as a Great American Hero for what he has exposed and what he has had to endure!”
Regardless if you side with Republicans or the Democrats on the matter, it was interesting that one news outlet chose to call out Nunes’ former profession: a dairy farmer.
On Saturday MSNBC “Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough criticized Nunes saying the dairy farmer should have stayed away from D.C.
In retrospect, Nunes would have been better off remaining a dairy farmer instead of coming to Congress and wrecking the US House Intel committee. https://t.co/d27MzpLpQA

And social media wasn’t having it over the weekend…
Manhattan Media Joe mocks Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., for being a farmer who has the audacity to think he should perform oversight of powerful federal agencies on behalf of the people who elected him to do just that. https://t.co/JBlSTu09eD

weren’t most of the Founding Fathers planters and farmers? and why does @JoeNBC thinks that’s an insult?

Morning Joe makes it sound like being a Dairy Farmer is a lowly Job and Devin Nunes would do good to remember his place, WOW! what a snob, what’s really sad Joe Scarborough and those like him have no HONOR & DIGNITY!

Damn farmers getting elected to congress and acting like they’re hot shit. Not up in here. – Scarborough https://t.co/iobeB2LG7v

Seeing a good amount of Dairy Farmer references. Whether you agree with Nunes or not, the idea of farmers and people from all walks of life representing us in Congress and overseeing coordinate branches of government is as American as it gets.
Get over yourself, Joe. https://t.co/k4bZGbgoT2
