Lallemand now accepting applications for Forward scholarships


For the fifth consecutive year, Lallemand Animal Nutrition will offer five Lallemand Forward Scholarships for students pursuing degrees in agriculture. The 2019 program offers: two $2,500 undergraduate scholarships, one $3,000 Doctor of Veterinary Medicine scholarship, one $3,000 master’s program scholarship, and one $3,000 doctoral scholarship. Applications are open to students in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Below are guidelines and the application for the undergraduate scholarship:

  • Must be a full-time student, pursuing a four-year degree in an agricultural program, including, but not limited to: Animal Science, Agribusiness, Crop Science, Livestock Management, Dairy Science, Ag Education, Agriculture Marketing, etc.
  • Must have a minimum of 60 credit hours (junior status)
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

Guidelines for Doctor of Veterinary Medicine student guidelines:

  • Must be enrolled in their third year of a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program focused on production animals
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

Guidelines for masters and doctorate program students:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited masters/doctoral program in animal science or related field
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

For each application, students must submit a 300 to 500 word essay answering one of the following questions:
1. What do you see as the greatest threat to production agriculture today and why?
2. What is the biggest opportunity you see in agriculture and why?
3. What are some of the most important things that you want the general public (non-farm consumer) to know about the agriculture industry and why?
