National Sorghum Foundation, BASF open joint scholarship

The National Sorghum Foundation and BASF are accepting applications for a joint scholarship that will be awarded in January 2023, providing $2,500 for tuition for the 2022-23 academic year.

“The National Sorghum Foundation has a longstanding commitment to developing the leadership potential of college students with a passion for improving the sorghum industry,” newly appointed NSF Chairman Jeff Dahlberg said. “BASF has worked with us on this endeavor for many years, and we’re excited to provide deserving students with the financial support necessary to help them succeed.”

Scholarship applicants must be the child or grandchild of a National Sorghum Producers member and be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in an agriculturally-related curriculum. Applications must be postmarked by December 1, 2022. 

Applications are due by Dec. 1, 2022, and must include the following:

  • Completed Application
  • Official transcript
  • At least two letters of recommendation
  • A headshot photo for media release

The National Grain Sorghum Foundation promotes research and education for sorghum and develops the leadership potential of active university students interested in studying agriculture and, more specifically, the sorghum industry. National Sorghum Foundation members have financially contributed to the advancement of education and science within the sorghum community. Members of the Golden Grain Society who have contributed $5,000 or more in current gifts or $10,000 or more in future gifts, through wills, insurance, and more.
