Protester bomb attacks Monsanto Research Center

Published:

In case you haven’t seen this story from across the pond, a Monsanto Research Center in Italy was the center of a bomb attack Easter weekend. Science Magazine reported that the anti-GMO protester used several Molotov cocktails on the facility in Olmeneta in the April 16 assault.

Only two of the four devices actually exploded. The protester fled the scene after spray painting a wall with “Bayer criminal marriage. No GMO.”

No one was injured, but the fire did damage a cold room where most of the facility’s research seeds are stored. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
