An Illinois farmer who was up to his chin in beans in a grain bin Friday is recovering after a coordinated effort by first responders.
According to Ivesdale Fire Chief James Brewer, the farmer went into the bin about 7 a.m. to unclog an auger when he became submerged. Another person the farmer was working with at the time called for help. With the help of numerous fire departments, including the Urbana Technical Rescue Team, the man was successfully rescued and sent to an area hospital. He’s expected to recover.
