After much anticipation, the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Chairman Pat Roberts, R-Kan., and Ranking Member Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich., announced the Committee will hold a hearing on the nomination of former Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue to be the next U.S. Secretary of Agriculture.
The House Agricultural Committee has been busy in the new Secretary’s absence, this week alone addressing President Trump’s proposed 2018 federal budget and the next farm bill and the importance of public agricultural research.
The hearing will be held Thursday, March 23 at the Senate Office Building. You can stream the event on the Senate Agriculture Committee’s website.
