A new extension has been added to the ever-popular New Holland T5 series tractor lineup. Debuting at the 2020 National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville, and World Ag Expo in Tulare, California, New Holland unveiled the addition of the Dynamic Command and AutoCommand transmission model tractors to event attendees.

These dual clutch systems are very similar to what you can find in high-end cars. This means they have separate, independent clutch backs for even and odd gears, and for forward and reverse, making shifts smooth and instantaneous.

The T5 AutoCommand features the equipment leader’s award-winning continuously variable transmission for increased versatility and comfort, ideal for PTO applications. The highly maneuverable T5 Dynamic Command reliably delivers maximum productivity and efficiency in operations where loader work and transport are key aspects of daily operations.

Both new models offer industry-leading efficiency and power with the FPT Stage V engine with ECOBlue HI-eSCR2 technology. These models also feature unrivaled versatility enhanced by the compact dimensions and extreme agility. The ultra-quiet Horizon cab, intuitive features of the SideWinder armrest and all-around visibility allow for the best operator environment in their class.

Designed for ultimate efficiency, the T5 AutoCommand provides seamless speed changes and all-around performance in jobs where exact speeds are critical. The three-stage acceleration and deceleration settings perfectly match performance to each task for smooth shuttle shifting and excellent maneuverability.

The T5 Dynamic Command 24×24 eight-step semi-PowerShift transmission is designed for efficiency and offers a wide set of speeds within the three ranges. The responsive Dynamic Command delivers near-instantaneous direction changes, ideal for carrying out loader-intensive operations more quickly and smoothly.

Both models meet Tier 4 emissions standards with the NEF engine and the new HI-eSCR2 technology developed by FPT Industrial. This innovative after-treatment system is a maintenance-free solution that minimizes operating costs, and is packaged neatly under the hood, allowing maximum visibility.

“This is probably the most innovative transmission we’ve ever come out with,” says Todd DeBock of New Holland.

He also notes that these transmissions offer enhanced fuel efficiency, as they can shift automatically so they use the lowest RPMs necessary to get the job done.

North American New Holland dealers will begin receiving the T5.130 and T5.140 in Dynamic Command and AutoCommand this spring.
