Wash. rancher gets 11-year sentence for $244M ‘ghost cattle’ fraud

In Washington state, Cody Allen Easterday was sentenced to 11 years in federal prison for his “ghost cattle” defrauding of Tyson Foods, Inc. and another company of more than $244 million. According to the Department of Justice, Easterday’s fraud scheme was the largest the Eastern District of Washington has seen to date.
