The U.S. Department of Agriculture just released a proposed rule with new regulatory requirements for the voluntary “Product of USA” label claim, aiming to provide clarity and transparency for consumers.
FSIS will allow “Product of USA” labeling of meat products from livestock that were slaughtered and processed in the United States.
This regulatory approach will ensure that cell-cultured products derived from the cell lines of livestock and poultry are produced safely and labeled.
