Cowboy battling cancer gets one last visit with his beloved horse
There is a lot that can be said about a cowboy and his horse, especially the love and friendship they share. After a hard fought battle with cancer, Kansas native Kevin Adkins passed away from cancer. However, his last request was to be able to say goodbye to his favorite horse. Adkins’ daughter, Delaney, saw to her dad’s final wishes.
According to WDBJ 7, “After a three-year battle with cancer, Kevin, a 55-year-old cowboy, died Tuesday. For nearly two decades prior, he spent every day with his 27-year-old horse, Vic.”
As one of Adkins’ closest friends, Vic will be an honorary pallbearer at his funeral.
The Kevin B. Adkins Cowboy Relief Fund has been set up in Adkins’ honor. The funds will help other families in the cowboy community.
