Daughter’s heart lives on in Nebraska farmer

· July 31, 2018

A family that lost their 21-year-old daughter to a drunk driver got to hear her heart beating this weekend in a Nebraska farmer that had been waiting over a year for a heart transplant. The two families connected over the weekend to celebrate Sarah Root’s life as well as Dan Griffin’s 64th birthday. The Griffin family from Elba had to travel over six hours in a snow storm, on closed roads behind a snow plow at times, to get to the Omaha hospital in time for the transplant.
