How to implement good conservation practices on a ranch
For farmers and ranchers, working the fields and livestock for generations is the goal for most family producers. However, that is easier said than done when considering the limited natural resources that surround the operation. One ranching family, Maddux Cattle Company, reached out to their local Natural Resource Conservation Service office to help create a grazing plan.
NCBA’s Cattlemen to Cattlemen said, “How do you keep an operation going strong for four generations? By doing everything you possibly can to manage and care for the land. See how one Nebraska ranch is taking advantage of help from the Natural Resource Conservation Service to implement conservation practices and stay economically viable for the long term. “
