The journey to learn where your pork comes from
In honor of October being National Pork Month, the Minnesota Pork Board created a short documentary to educate consumers about the pork industry. Featuring three Minnesota pork enthusiasts, one of whom is an owner of Schwartz’s Farms in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, “Meat of the North” highlights all facets of the pork industry — from the farm to an iconic Minnesota butcher shop to cooking it the right and most tasty way.
The goal of the documentary is to help consumers connect with where their food comes from. In a state with more than 3,000 pig farms, the Minnesota Pork Board and its many producers are proud to be the state with the second-most pigs marketed — about 16.4 million in 2017.
