Petersons’ parody: They’re on a ‘Highway to Sell’

· December 5, 2020

All it takes is about two seconds of that intro guitar riff to know exactly which original song is the centerpiece of this Peterson Farm Brothers parody. It’s iconic and cross-generational, and it’s perfect to hear today! The Petersons’ “Highway to Sell” pulls from the AC/DC rock classic “Highway to Hell.”

Why does this tune work so well here? And why is it called “Highway to Sell”?

“Farming. It’s like a highway,” said Greg Peterson, the eldest of the brothers. “The surface must be prepared, built up, tended to. There is a beginning … and a destination. It is a journey that provides people with a service. This video is dedicated to all the men and women who are part of that journey. Farmers. Farm workers. Educators. Crop and Animal Scientists. Food and feed scientists. Soil and Environmental scientists. Engineers. Economists. Analysts. Equipment Manufacturers and Sales. Businesses. Mechanics. Truck Drivers. People in Marketing. Communication. Financing. Processing. Packaging. Distribution. Retail. Finally, this video is dedicated to the consumer, who provides demand for a farmer’s products. Thank you all for being a part of the highway to sell.”
