Retired Minnesota dairy farmer never wanted to be Santa

· December 21, 2016

Hilary Drees, a retired Cologne, Minnesota dairy farmer, never thought he had the charisma to be Santa Claus, but 16 years later he is still putting on the red suit each year. After getting some nudging from John Zimmerman, his former veterinarian and the owner of Z’s Trees, the reluctant Santa agreed, but only if his wife Irene filled the role of Mrs. Claus. According to KARE 11, the 82-year-old and his wife are still donning the holiday tradition, despite Irene’s heart surgery and Hilary’s diabetes and five heart bypasses. From the clip it seems the couple has truly found their calling.
