Three cows rescued after New Zealand quake

· December 5, 2016

Three cows rescued after New Zealand’s 7.8 magnitude earthquake have gained international attention recently. Helicopter footage, shot by Newshub, shows the trio waiting to be rescued from their grassy island. A geologist told Newshub, that the cows had probably “surfed” the land as it shifted beneath them.

The Federated Farmers of New Zealand said there is no way of knowing how many animals are still missing in the area, predominantly a dry stock region with beef and sheep.
