The Destruction of American Agriculture

As a country, we continue to become ever dependant on other countries to feed our own. This is not safe, or sustainable. Every year we lose hundreds if not thousands of American Farmers and Ranchers as imported food pours in from other countries. This cannot continue. We must take a long look at the future. So that we never find ourselves in a situation where we can no longer feed our own country much less help others. We are on the verge of losing many domestic agricultural industries. American Agricultural Procucers, pay American Taxes, buy American products, create millions of American jobs and produce American products. Its time we put America First to make sure we have a future!

Rancher on the erosion of agriculture in America

· September 9, 2020

“Every year, we become more and more dependent on other countries to feed our population,” Carson Jorgensen begins in his video on The Destruction of American Agriculture. He talks about the security and economic risks of that dependence, and how the COVID-19 pandemic has people rethinking how the food system functions. It relates to a very recognizable impact on his family’s longtime sheep operation, but it’s certainly not limited to his niche in the ag industry.

“Once agriculture is gone, it’s very difficult to bring it back,” he says. So very true!

“This cannot continue,” he says in a post on Facebook. “We must take a long look at the future. So that we never find ourselves in a situation where we can no longer feed our own country much less help others.”
