Since its establishment in 1923, Stephen F. Austin State University’s Department of Agriculture has provided students with transformative, hands-on experiences in the classroom and on the department’s 726-acre farm. Our faculty and staff members are dedicated to the discovery and dissemination of new and existing knowledge in the fields of modern agriculture, and are keenly focused on fostering academic, personal, and professional development among our students. In addition to undergraduate education, the department also provides graduate studies in agriculture with a special emphasis on regionally identifiable needs and concerns.

Walter C. Todd Agricultural Research Center

SFA’s 726-acre Walter C. Todd Agricultural Research Center comprises six centers focused on beef, broiler, equine, poultry, sheep, goat and swine research and production. The center provides quality, hands-on instruction to undergraduate students, provides a place to conduct undergraduate and graduate student driven research, and provides outreach and services to area producers, FFA and 4-H members.
