Spuds are planted! Woohoo! I love my Russet Burbank potatoes. In my opinion, nothing beats a good ole Long Valley Russet potato. ? Planting potatoes in our garden is always a mixture of emotions. We now plant 2 (long) rows rather then 100 acres. We now plant them by hand rather than machine. ? We talk about and remember the past years of growing spuds. The good times, the bad times, the stressful times, and the loving times. So many memories. They all come flooding back when we drop those little pieces of seed in the ground and cover them up. ? So many seeds have been planted on this land through out the generations. Whether it be knowledge, growth, friendships, or potatoes. Seeds were planted with the anticipation of growth. We are still planting seed. We still look forward to watching that seed grow. We look forward to reaping what we have sown. Now, we just do it on a smaller scale, in the garden that is. In life, it's still on a large scale. Always should be. .. .. #plantingpotatoes #plantingseed #seedpotatoes #watchitgrow #manymemories #goodandbad #plantseedofknowledge #reapwhatyousow #generationfarm #gardenfresh #idahoagriculture #idahoag #longvalleypotatoes #russetburbankpotato #familyfarm #agproud #agdaily #agforlife #livinthelife #livinfarmlife #livinthelifethefarmlifethatis

Ever notice how God will throw things at you just to keep you humble? This morning I was backing into a field with the tanks on the truck and trailer both full. In the time it took be to take a quick glance at my passenger side mirror, the tires on the right side of the trailer sank in the field. Like, to the axel. And, of course, it jackknifed the trailer. When I tried to pull forward, the trailer brakes were on. With air brakes, air pressure is applied to release the brakes. If you don’t have air, the brakes are set. My brakes were set which meant only one thing- when it jackknifed, it broke an airline. Thankfully farmers can fix anything. Filled the tractor a few times and emptied the tank on the trailer, got air to the brakes to release them and then got everything straightened out. Today’s lesson was to NOT back into the field with a loaded trailer. Because the tires can sink. And if only one side sinks, you’ll jackknife. And if you do that, you can break airlines. And it all happens in about .04 seconds. Lesson learned. Humble pie eaten. And as always, I’m so thankful for a handy, handsome hubby. #blessedlife #agriculture #farmlife #farm #womeninag #rural #livingthedream #wheat #countrylife #farminglife #advocate #bekind #godisgood #farmgirl #aglife #rurallife #farm365 #farming #farmlifebestlife #womenwhofarm #ag #agdaily #nutrienagsolutions #highlinegraingrowers @wawheatfoundation @eatwheat
