Picking a favorite part of a life in agriculture? Nearly impossible. Everyone involved in the ag industry has their own reasons for why they love it, and no two people have the same story. ? One thing is almost certain: you’ll get a peek into their soul and life’s purpose after listening to their “why” for farming or working in this field (pun very much intended ?) ? This might be MY very favorite part of a life in agriculture. It doesn’t matter who you are, what you grow, how many cows you have, or what job you go to in town during the week. If you’re involved in agriculture, you’re probably passionate beyond belief and want to connect with other people who feel the same ? ? My challenge for you is to share your “why” with anyone who will listen, as often as you can. That kind of passion makes this world a better place ? #TheFarmStory

It’s amazing how things change. . Cattle went from short and stubby to tall and ‘framey’ to moderate as they are now. With those changes, our marketing tactics changed too. Photos are no longer printed, we save them in Google Drive or upload them to Facebook. Yet, some things never change: our love for the industry. We put our heart and soul out there for the world to see, hoping we can sell that bull, or any other product. . No matter the sector of the industry, remember to tell your story and have a personal connection with your consumers- even if that means trusting in the marketing tool that my grandfather believes in today, a ballpoint pen with the farm name and phone number on it. To this day he gives those pens out to everyone he knows, hoping it’ll get him a lead. And to be honest, his sincerity and pen marketing tactic works.
