He woke me up at 5:20 so I dressed him cute and made him take sunrise photos. He retaliated by jumping into a mud puddle 2.5 seconds after this, thus ending the aforementioned photo sesh. Motherhood is magical ya’ll.

Today is #NationalFarmerDay, a day that reminds me how lucky I am ??‍? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Looking back, I never truly appreciated growing up on a farm. Maybe it was because I didn’t realize how rare it is to actually live that life or because I just didn’t realize how much I actually loved it until I started to get older. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As a kid, I remember taking school field trips out my family’s dairy farm, and I thought it was the coolest thing because I got to play at home for half the day with my friends, but to other kids, it was so much more than that. What I didn’t realize then was that a field trip out to my family’s farm may have been the only time some of my classmates have ever stepped foot on a farm, and many people will go their entire lives without doing so. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As time goes on, I think that we’re all becoming more and more disconnected with where our food comes from. But if there’s one thing you should know, it’s that growing and raising food is not an easy task, so remember to be grateful everyday for all the farmers out there. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’m truly grateful to be a farmer’s daughter and a farmer’s sister.
